THE JULIA BETH JACOBSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

THE JULIA BETH JACOBSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Julia Beth Jacobson Memorial Scholarship

Julia Beth Jacobson lived her life committed to serving her community and her country. Julia graduated from Spearfish High School in 1999 and attended the University of Wyoming where she was enrolled in the Army ROTC. Upon her graduation from the University of Wyoming in 2003, Julia retired as a Captain in the US Army and deployed twice to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and once to Bosnia as a Finance Officer. Julia was well respected by her peers, subordinates and supervisors and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for her exemplary service in a combat zone. After leaving the military, Julia began her career at 7-Eleven and earned her MBA from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2012. In all aspects of her life, Julia was one of those extraordinary people who knew exactly what she wanted in life and worked tirelessly to get it without letting other people's opinions stand in her way. Her friends and colleagues describe her as being incredibly dedicated, hard-working, and loyal. Julia took great pride in her role as a loving daughter, aunt, sister, and friend--delighting in her relationship with her nieces and nephews and serving as a rock to both her siblings and friends. The goal of this scholarship is to honor Julia's legacy as a devoted daughter, aunt, sister and friend and to honor her spirit of service to her community and country.
