The Mark Chapman Memorial Scholarship is in memory of Mark Chapman who was a high school sports official and an avid sports enthusiast.
The intent of the scholarship was created to encourage and assist a student athlete in obtaining a post-secondary education.
The scholarship criteria reflect Mark’s vision for a student athlete. First and foremost, he always felt that academics came first, and athletics was a means of building character for the student.
The $500 scholarship will be awarded to a senior athlete from Central High School.
- The recipient must maintain a GPA of 3.0 at the time of selection.
- The recipient must exhibit good citizenship both on and off the field.
- The recipient must have plans to attend some form of higher education.
