Our grantmaking is focused on investing to improve the quality of life in the Black Hills.

CAPACITY BUILDING GRANT
We are proud to be able to respond to our community's changing needs and offer support to the nonprofits that make our region a better place every day. The information shared by the applicants will help our organization grow in understanding the issues and concerns of people in our community.

Winter application opens on February 1 and closes on March 15

Summer application opens on June 1 and closes on July 14

COMMUNITY ACTION GRANT
The Black Hills Community Action Grant opportunity is available to our Agency Endowment Fund Holders. The $50,000 grant will go to support an organization that is employing innovative ideas, leveraging community partnerships, and focusing efforts on sustainable practices.

 

$15K COMMUNITY ACTION GRANT
This $15,000 grant opportunity is only available to BHACF Agency Endowed Fund Holders. This grant will be awarded to an organization that is employing innovative ideas, leveraging community partnerships, and focusing efforts on sustainable practices.  The BHACF Board of Directors will select an organization to receive the Community Action Grant.

 

COLLECTIVE IMPACT FOOD SECURITY GRANT
Organizations may only apply for one Food Security Grant per year. Requested support must be for organizations and activities that take place in Rapid City and Box Elder and support the overall collaborative efforts of the Collective Impact Food Security Workgroup.


 

 

 

LIV TO GIVE
The purpose of the Liv Hospitality Liv to Give Fund is to provide grants that will benefit the people and charitable organizations of the Black Hills area. Applicants must be an IRS-approved tax-exempt public charity under section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) as described in IRC 501(c)(3). Preference is given to projects and organizations that benefit kids.

THE COMMUNITY SERVICE CENTER TRUST FUND GRANT
The purpose of the Community Service Center Trust Fund (CSCTF) Grant is to support organizations that serve and benefit individuals and families with low incomes within the local area of Rapid City.  Special emphasis shall be placed on providing funds that benefit local Native American Indian groups to help provide services and programs for their people.

MARGARET WARREN & GRACE LEMLEY ANIMAL WELFARE GRANT
It is in the spirit of Maggie's love of animals that The Margaret Warren & Grace Lemley
Animal Welfare Grant was created. This grant is designed to honor the legacy of
Maggie's passion and support Black Hills Area animal welfare organizations.

YOUTH PHILANTHROPY GRANT

A partnership between the Black Hills Area Community Foundation and the Rapid City Youth City Council.

The Mission of Youth Philanthropy is to create a community of high school students who want to make the world a better place by supporting nonprofit organizations that focus on the well-being of our community.
