Amanda Hoffmann-Smith Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship supports a graduating senior who aspires to better the world with their life.

Overview: 

In memory of Amanda Hoffmann-Smith, the scholarship offers financial support to a Rapid City high school or Douglas High School student who wishes to better the world with their life.

The scholarship provides $7,000 (one-time, given over two semesters).

Eligibility criteria: 

  1. Current high school senior in the Rapid City Area School system or Douglas High School
  2. Anticipating completion of high school diploma at the time of application
  3. Planning to pursue a 4 year degree at an accredited post-secondary institution
  4. Applications for this scholarship are due by April 15th. All elements of the application, to include the recommendations, must be received by the deadline.

About the Amanda Hoffmann-Smith Memorial Scholarship

Amanda Hoffmann-Smith or Mrs. Smith, as her students at South Park Elementary knew her, was a lifelong student and passionate educator who devoted herself to future generations. Prior to becoming an elementary school teacher, she pursued Business Administration and Economics, and worked for Stanford University’s Executive Education Program. The goal of this scholarship is to perpetuate Amanda’s legacy and offer financial support to students who aim to better the world with their lives.
